Farmer Insurance Group’s cofounders John C Tyler and Thomas E. Leavy, founded Farmers Automobile Inter Insurance in 1927. Both of them had rural background and a strong dream for the farmers and ranchers to get better driving rates than the urbanites due to the lowered likelihood of accidents, deserving to receive the lower premiums for their insurances.

Farmers Insurance Group of Companies was a subsidiary of B.A.T. Industries until 1988. The company merged with Zurich Insurance Company in 1998. Farmers insurance is the fifth largest property and casualty insurer in the United States since 1997 and the company is headquartered in Los Angeles and operates in nearly 30 states with a distribution network of over 16,000 employees.

Bodily Injury
Bodily Injury coverage covers the expenses associated with other people's injuries or death for which you are legally responsible. Coverage includes medical expenses, loss of income and pain and suffering. This coverage’s are subjected to the limits and conditions of your policy. It is being made mandatory by almost all the states to carry Bodily Injury coverage.
 
Property Damage
Property Damage covers your liability for damaging another person’s personal property, such as an automobile, house or fence.
 
Collision Coverage
Collision coverage covers the damage to your vehicle resulting from a collision with another vehicle or an object. In General the coverage reimburses you the amount needed to repair or replace your damaged vehicle, minus the deductible of your option.
 
 
Comprehensive Coverage
Comprehensive coverage protects your investment in your vehicle by covering the losses to the car resulting from fire, theft, falling objects, riots, storms, earthquakes, floods, collision with a bird or animal and other natural occurrences. Comprehensive coverage generally includes a deductible of your option.
 
Customized Equipment Coverage
Under the Comprehensive and Collision portion of your car insurance policy, optional equipment (a CD player or navigation system) is automatically covered if it is permanently installed in the opening of the dash where the manufacturer would normally install such equipment.
 
Medical Payments
This coverage pays medical bills and funeral expenses the parties injured in an accident while riding in your vehicle. Coverage extends to you or a family member when riding as a passenger in someone else's vehicle or when struck by a vehicle when on foot.
 
Fault or No-Fault
In a no-faultstate, your own insurance company indemnifies you for any loss or injuries to you, no matter who causes the accident. In general, no-fault can limit your right to sue to recover damages. Personal Injury Protection (PIP) is generally required in no-fault states.
 
Uninsured/Underinsured Motorist Coverage
Uninsured Motorist coverage covers the insured members of your household and your passengers in an accident with a motorist who has no insurance or is underinsured. It also provides the coverage, if you're hit by a hit-and-run driver. Coverage includes payment of medical costs, lost wages and pain and suffering.
